About Maggona:
Maggona is a small fishermen's village at the westcoast of Sri Lanka, about 50 km south of Colombo.
The convent is located next to the church and has a small herb garden in front of it.
There are a couple of small rooms and a little kitchen.
The convent is small because the children supported here don't live in the convent.
The children live at home with there families in the area around Maggona.
The 3 sisters working in the convent are teachers and guardians for the children.
So for them it is easier to find out which children need a sponsor and arrange this for them.
They do this in order to offer the children a more solid base and also support the poor famlies of the children.
Hopefully this children later will be able to help their parents and families.
